Welcome to Parans Solar Lighting’s FAQ page. If you can’t find what you are looking for you are welcome to send us an inquiry via our contact form.
Parans offers sunlight for indoor environments and constructions through innovative technology and design. The intelligent SP4 system uses suncollectors that follow the sun during the day, just like a sunflower. Through fiber optic cables the system captures and leads the rays of the sun up to 100m (30 floors) in and through the property, and spreads the light in a way giving people a memorable experience. This means ensuring minimal structural impact of the building.
Fiber optic daylighting is a great way to deliver natural light to spaces deep into a building. It is s sustainable solution, reducing CO2 emissions, using the sun as a renewable source, with almost zero energy consumption. With fiber optic daylighting you are able to solve your daylight requirements, while reducing costs, and taking a human centric approach with natural lighting. There is minimal intrusion in a building since the cables can run through interior wall cavities, shafts, ceiling plenums, or wiring chases. It goes beyond the length of solartubes and it is a great complement to skylights or the extension of a window.
Yes. (Fiber Optic Daylighting systems)
Office buildings, healt care buildings, educational buildings. But also infrastructure projects such as tunnel entrances, metro stations and more.
Parans’ solution is suitable for both new building projects and retrofit projects. With the fiber optic cables, there are minimal intrusion in a building which make it suitable for retrofit projects.
The possibilities are many. We often talk about point light, ceiling/wall light, shaft light and ambient light. We could create a lot with the luminaires from our standard range of luminaires, but we could also help you out with a customized solution. For a free assessment we refer to filling out our contact form with some basic information about your project with a short description, preferably with a drawing of the premises.
Yes. The light from Parans is not identical with the daylight outside. It contains almost no infrared wavelengths and very little ultraviolet light. Still it contains about 50% of the important light between 446 to 488 nm and the distribution in the visible spectra is continuous with a maximum where the eye is most sensitive. Therefor we claim that Parans solar lighting system provide full spectral daylight.
Yes. The color rendering of a light source is very important for the quality of light. Daylight has, by definition, a “perfect” color rendering because it has a continuous spectrum. Parans solar lighting system’s light distribution in the visible spectra is also continuous with a maximum where the eye is most sensitive.
Each fiber optic cable can deliver 700 lumen, in e.g. our Parans system SP4-40.2 unit can deliver around 28 000 lumen.
One SP4-40.2 unit can cover 185 m2 windowless room with 150 lux. For a free assessment we refer to filling out our contact form with some basic information about your project with a short description, preferably with a drawing of the premises.
All projects are quoted separately. Price estimation is determined by a number of factors such as area to be illuminated, number of units required, length of fiber optic cables, lux requirements, location, and costs for installation depending on complexity. For a free assessment and price estimate we refer to filling out our contact form with some basic information about your project with a short description, preferably with a drawing of the premises.
All installations are done by a Parans Certified Installer. We recommend that the cable is secured each 15 meter horizontally and every 10 meter vertically. You can use all type of areas where it can be somewhat secure such as ventilation shafts, light shafts, electrical shafts etc. We also recommend to use extra protection around the cable for any sharp turns or corners. Minimum bending radius of the cable is 180 mm. The cables are UV resistant. Protective hoses shall be used for outdoor.
The units require 2-3 meters in diameter.
In order to perform properly and maintain light intensity level, the system must be cleaned from dust, dirt, ice or snow. Regularity of cleaning is dependent up on geographical and weather conditions.
Yes
We follow the regulations regarding RoHS for all direct material. RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is an EC directive which prohibits or limits the use of some heavy metals and flame retardants in electrical and electronical products on the market.
