The award means a great deal for Parans, says creative director Nils Nilsson. "It is the perfect recognition of our work for design beyond aesthetics". This means that Parans do not focus on decoration, but a design with function. It is a design that creates the ultimate experience within Solar Lighting.
The competition was initiated by three powerful Swedish organisations in design and sustainability: Konstfack, O2 Nordic and Albaeco with the aim of giving attention to socially and ecologically sustainable designs.
Motivation: "The optical fiber beautifully meets two pressing needs.The need for electrical lighting is reduced daytime, it's easy to realize the great environmental gains from this. Also, the natural light contributes to a healthier working environment for many people."
